DAF YOMI תענית י"ב ע"ב       In Ashkenaz מחזורים, on top of the words of   ותשובה ותפילה וצדקה there appears  the words  צום קול ממון  It's unlikely that  צום קול ממון has any connection to תשובה תפילה צדקה. Perhaps, צום קול ממון and תשובה תפילה צדקה are two different formulas for two different occasions.       מעבירין רוע הגזירה can be interpreted in two ways. 1) Prevents bad גזירות from ch”v reaching us. 2) Removes (rids) bad גזירות that ח"ו already reached us. To prevent bad גזירות  from arriving, the formula is תשובה תפילה צדקה. To get rid of bad גזירות that has ח"ו arrived, (אולי today) then the formula is as mentioned in the רמב"ם in הל' תעניות. (based on the Mishna תענית י"ב ע"ב)                                     צום א- הל' ד') ומדברי סופרים להתענות על כל צרה-)       There is a mitzvah d’Rabanan to fast.                                                          קול (א- הל' א') מצות עשה מה"ת לזעוק ולהריע בחצוצרות    Mitzvah min HaTorah to blow trumpets  & scream to Hashem.                                   ממון   (ג' הל' ד'- הל' ח') ונועלין את החניות- ממעטין במשא ומתן You close the shops- reduce business dealings. (ממון is not צדקה but the loss of monetary income)

fasting on י"ג אדר

The fast day of תענית אסתר* on the 13th of Adar
is not mentioned in בבלי or ירושלמי. It was
instituted by the Gaonim. (The first mention
of תענית אסתר is in the שאילתות דרב אחאי גאון)

Before they abolished the  מגילת תענית
it was forbidden to fast on the 13th of Adar 
because the day before or after the
Yomim Tovim mentioned in מגילת תענית
(Purim Chanuka etc,) were also included
as the days forbidden to fast.

The רא"ש quotes the ר' תם  "The only  סמך  (minor
source) for fasting is from the Gemoro Megilah 2a
that says י"ג זמן קהלה לכל היא The ר' תם explains
they gather to say Selichos because of the fast day".


*not to be confused with the three days fast in Nissan mentioned in the Megillah.

a) The מ"ב  תקס"ז סק"ו  quotes the חיי אדם

"when cooking for a Seudas Mitzvah one may

taste the food on a Ta'anis" (may not swallow)

b) The ברכי יוסף תקס"ח 8) brings a Machlokes

If someone mistakenly made a Bracha (on food) 

on a Ta'anis 

According to the נחפה בכסף, he should eat less

than a כזית 

Others argue and hold to say בשכמל"ו after making

the Bracha.

Special Segulah From The Kav Hayoshor-Taanis Esther

The  Kav Hayoshor* (97)  writes that on Ta'anis Esther 

there is a special Segulah for our Tefilos to be accepted.

תענית אסתר כי יום זה הוא מסוגל מאוד שיקובל תפלתינובזכות מרדכי ואסתר,"
וכל מי שצריך רחמים על איזה דבר שהוא צריך להתפלל יקח פנאי לעצמו ביום
התענית אסתר ויאמר תחלה מזמור כ״ב בספר תהלים ״אילת השחר, ודרשו
רז״ ל דאסתר היתה נקראת אילת השחר. ואח״כ ישפוך שיחו לפני ה׳ ויבקש
בקשתו ויזכיר זכות מרדכי ואסתר אשר בזכותם יעתר לו הקב״הויפתח לו שערי
"רחמים ותקובל תפלתו ברצו.

Pidyon Haben

Pidyon Haben Everybody knows, eating at a Pidyon Haben is like fasting 84 Taniyos. 
 The Sdei Chemed writes, there is no such Mekor anywhere. Most Poskim don’t consider a Seudas Pidyon Haben as a Seudas Mitzvah. 
 The Ostrovtzer Rebbe ztl said that it is “ Keilu “as if, he fasted. A “Keilu fast only works on “Keilu Aveiros” and not for the real Aveirah. (Kol Hador Bechul Keilu Oved Avoda Zarah etc.) 

 The Rebbe said, we find in Shas, 84 such Keilu Aveiros. 

 R. Yosef Chaim Zonenfeld ztl . said learning a blatt Gemoro works just as well as eating food from a Pidyon Haben. Daf has the osiyos Pei Daled = 84.
