According to Mori V'Rabi

Some of the Halachos heard on the phone 6 years ago

Some Halachos might be
being it
was said during Covid
Reb Shlomo Miller
Reb Shlomo Miller

1) One should not order Chametz before Pesach from
Amazon etc. to be delivered after Pesach.

2)  Garbage bins belonging to the municipality may be filled
with Chametz if put out on the curb before Pesach.

3) Burning Chametz requires a one-piece כזית or combined
smaller pieces totaling a  כזית but then it needs to be in one כלי

4) When buying from a store a  כלי that needs טבילה it's
best to sell it to a Goy.

Not having in mind to be קונה the כלי when purchasing it is
not an option.
(Mikvaos were closed)

5) One can do ביעור חמץ by placing a כזית חמץ on a fork and
burning it over a candle.

6) According to some, you can't Kasher a quartz countertop.
Some consider crushed stone as חרס.

7) The Torah specified only כלי חרס can't be Kashered.
Anything else could be Kashered. Therefore some hold
one may Kasher even plastic etc.

8) Most alcohols in hand sanitizers are not made from
grain and one can rely on רוב that it's not חמץ.

9) Those who Daven מוסף ביחידות on the first day of

Pesach should stop saying משיב הרוח ומוריד הגשם at
מוסף (not at Mincha)
(Even Nusach Ashkenaz in Chutz Laaretz)

However, If you did say משיב הרוח at מוסף there is no
need to repeat the מוסף.

Treading the beautiful path

                 Was it a misprint?

In the back of the שו"ת נודע ביהודה מהו' תנינא they printed a
copy of the שטר רבנות the city of Prague presented to
the נודע ביהודה.
As is customarily done it was written in flowery & poetic
language.

In one of the  phrases, it says אנשי שם ויפיפי פעם ( the people
accepting the N.B. as their Rav)

The publisher of the נודע ביהודה writes in the footnotes that
the words "יפיפי פעםis a mistake because there is no
such terminology and it has no meaning.

He continues, he is surprised at the original publisher of
this שטר רבנות, Harav Professor Kauffman for not realizing
this mistake.

The fact is, the term "יפיפי פעם" is not a mistake. It was used
close to a thousand years ago when the Piyut for שביעי של פסח
was written. The פייטן describes the Yidden as יפיפי פעם.
The term is probably based on the Pasuk in

Art Scroll translates יפיפי פעם "those who on the beautiful
path do tread" (בני ישראל)

The Shver insisted

*The one & only day of the year ר' יוחנן
wore Tefilin, was on חול המועד פסח.

R. Akiva Eiger zt"l brings a ראיה (proof) from a Rashi
in Sukah 46a that one is obligated to wear Tefillin on
Chol Hamoed.

The תנא קמא holds if one has many Mitzvos to perform,
(at the same time) he should make one Bracha "על המצות"

Rashi gives an example of how one has many Mitzvos
at the same time, for instance,

The son in law of R Akiva Eiger Zt"l, R. Shmuel Birenbaum zt"l
writes when he came the
first time to his Shver (R. Akiva Eiger zt"l)
on Chol
Hamoed Pesach. His Shver insisted, he put on

Tefillin**, even though his family was from a Chasidic

background and didn't wear Tefillin on Chol Hamoed.

R.A.E. claimed that in Germany & all the surrounding

countries, it was accepted to follow תורת משה,

the רמ"א, in all his Pesakim, wherever he argues

on the בית יוסף.

*Chasam Sofer Oc"h 31:2
**from then on he wore Tefillin on Chol Hamoed ,

with no Bracha and made a Tenai

The מהרש"ל was not too concerned with the זהר
who writes that one who wears תפילין בחוה"מ
is חייב מיתה

R Chaim Kanievsky zt"l answered

 Parshas Hashavua

In the פיוט of אחד מי יודע, it says:

" שמונה ימי מילה" eight days of Milah (based on the גמרא ערובין מ' ע"ב)

The מפרשים ask: There is only one day of מילה on the  eighth day, and not eight days of מילה.

Reb Chaim Kanievsky זצ"ל answered, "There is an obligation not to make a ברית before the  eighth day.

Therefore there are eight days of Milah
The first seven days to make sure not to do the ברית and on the eighth day to do the ברית.

The 4 Pesach Riddles Answered

 THE 4 RIDDLES

1) To avoid the איסור חמץ שעבר עליו הפסח
The Goy has to sell his Chametz to another Goy.

                                        GOY EL GOY

1) The Halacha of, a wife's assets belonging to her husband,
is not applicable if the husband is a Goy.

A Goy who is ch"v married to a Jewess we apply the rule of
(Law of the land) and 50% of the assets
belong to the (Jewish) wife, (Harav Y.S. Elyashiv zt"l)

Therefore, their Chametz needs to be sold to another Goy,
for it not to become
(ie: A Goy who is a partner with a Yid, their
חמץ must be sold)

2) A Goy who will be becoming a Ger on Pesach

.

2) Yosef, being a בכור, should not be the שליח ציבור.

The משנה ברורה (470:2)  writes, " When a Minyan of fasting Bechorim
Daven together on Erev Pesach and the Shliach Tzibur is one of them, he
must say עננו at שומע תפילה.

However, it is preferable for the Bechor not to be the שליח ציבור, being it's
Chodesh Nissan and it's not proper to mention the fast in חזרת הש"ץ ".

3)  The Yom Tov of פסח is only one & a half (1.5) days.

'

The
and the first Seder night are called
פסח
From the first day on, it is called

4) Some years, on אחרון של פסח after מנחה, you
say וידוי.

TWICE IN SEVEN YEARS, WE SAY
וידוי ON פסח

The הלכה of וידוי מעשרות to be done on the fourth* & seventh
year, is brought down in

The
בית יוסף holds this מצוה is applicable בזמן הזה.
The
לבוש - ש"ך - גר"א & חרדים all agree with the ב"י

The
אדרת has five reasons for not doing it today. However
he refutes them all and holds
בזמן הזה on the fourth year after שמיטה & on the
seventh year, after Mincha on

The
חזון אי"ש argues and holds that this Mitzvah is not
applicable

*This year

Shabbos Hagadol

Because it did not happen on Shabbos

We celebrate שבת הגדול because the נס of crossing the Yarden didn't  happen on Shabbos.

The ב"ח (O.Ch.430) writes, "why do we commemorate the נס  (sheep tied to bed ) on Shabbos instead of the tenth of Nissan?" (actual date of נס)

He explains, " as not to confuse it with a different נס that also happened on the 10th of Nissan. The crossing of the ירדן
occurred on the tenth of Nissan, but it did not happen on a Shabbos.

By commemorating the נס  (sheep tied to bed ) always on Shabbos  and not on the 10th Nissan
no one will think we are celebrating because of the other נס of crossing the ירדן

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only סימן in the entire שלחן ערוך that
has no הלכה in it, is in אורח חיים :ת"ל
"שבת שלפני הפסח קורין אותו שבת הגדול"

The חיד"א in ספר מחזיק ברכה writes:
On Shabbos Hagadol,
greet each other ,"שבת הגדול ומבורך
instead of "שבת שלום ומבורך."

Sharpen Your Brainz- Can you answer This Riddle ??

What is Muktza throughout the entire year (on Shabbosos & Yomim Tovim) except for  8 or 9 days of the year when it is not Muktza? (on Shabbos or Yom Tov)

Are the Women Lazy

LAZY WOMEN?

(O.Ch. 437:4) writes “We can trust women, slaves, and children that the house was properly cleaned for Pesach".

The reason for this is since בדיקת חמץ is only מדרבנן we may rely on them.

Had it been דאורייתא we would not have relied on them based on the ירושלמי that says נשים עצלניות הן (women are lazy) and therefore
where it is time-consuming or difficult to do they take shortcuts and are not reliable.

The ערוך השלחן writes that women of today are more reliable than men*.
They are more stringent and מדקדק in cleaning than men are.

We even find it in the
(ראשונים (ר'מנוח,מאירי, ראביה that this does not apply to
women of today.

* The מ"ב writes לכתחילה we should not have women do Bedikas Chometz.

On the evening of the twenty-second, you (should)
may eat leavened bread.

Perhaps, this is the reason for the Minhag to have
long lineups at the Pizza shops on מוצאי יו"ט פסח
