The Zohar On Parshas Eikev

The Zohar Parshas Eikev writes , the Tefillin Shel Rosh has 2 Shins. One Shin with 3 Zayins and one with 4 Zayins, (in total 7 Zayins.)

The Zohar explains the 7 secrets of the 7 Zayins on the Tefilin represent :

1.      7 lobes of the lung*

2.       7 days of the week

3.       7 weeks (Pesach to Shavuos)

4.       7 Planets**

5.       7 branches of the Menorah

6.       7 candles (burning)

7.       7 Sefiros

Did you know that (על פי קבלה (זהר you should be wearing Rashi's Tefillin (not Rabeinu Tam's) According to both Rashi & the Zohar the order of the Parshiyos in the Tefillin are קדש - כי יביאך - שמע - והיה אם שמוע  According to R.Tam the order is  קדש - כי יביאך -   והיה אם שמוע - שמע

The Sefer מדרש פליאה (The Puzzling Midrash )  is a compilation of puzzling statements and riddles.
Contrary to popular belief, they are not מדרשי חז"ל .They  were invented by Darshonim
who made up statements that
sound illogical and then solved them.

Harav Hagaon Ovadyah Yosef זצ"ל (Yechave Da’as 5-3) quotes a מדרש פליאה and a solution
from R. Akiva Eiger zt”l

“אין מניחין תפילין אלא בשבת”  You don’t put on Tefilin only on Shabbos.
 The spelling of   בית שין בית תיו –are the Roshei Teivos of במקום שער במקום תפוח
Rosh is placed where there is (was) hair. Yad is placed on part of the arm where the muscles are.

The מהרש"א in מהודרא בתרא  ( Shabbos 88b) explains, the פסוק in Tehillim (119 -164)
"שקר שנאתי ואתעבה , תורתך אהבתי". I have hated falsehood and abhorred it,your Torah I love.

Dovid Hamelech is referring to the Darshonim who fool the public with their lies. They say over מדרשים שקרים (invented Midrashim)  and then explain the Midrash with their lies. He only likes true Torah and not invented lies.

There is a מחלוקת רש"י ור"ת how to place the Parshiyos in the Tefillin and the Mezuzah on the doorpost.

 vertical or horizontal.

To be יוצא ידי שניהם the Mezuzah is placed at an

angle.

To be יוצא ידי שניהם the Medakdekim wear both 

Rashi & RABEINU Tam Tefillin.

1) Why don't the Medakdekim place two Mezuzos on

each door post one vertical and one horizontal to

be יוצא ידי שניהם?

2) Why don't we place the Parshiyos in the Tefillin

at an angle to be יוצא ידי שניהם,?

More On Rabeinum Tam Tefilin

The Sefer Keser Rosh (Talmid of R. Chaim Volozhiner) writes: 

Reb  Chaim Volozhiner asked the Gaon 

"He understands him for not wearing Rabeinu  Tam’s Tefillin being he wears Tefillin all day long and if Rabeinu  Tam’s Tefillin are Halachchcally not considered Tefillin he doesn’t want to miss a minute without Tefillin. His question was for himself being he doesn’t wear them all day long shouldn’t he be wearing also R. Tam’s Tefillin. (in case R.Tam’s Shita is the correct one)”

The Gaon answered him if his concern is to be Yotzei Shitas Rabeinu Tam then he should also be concerned for 24/64* different Shitos.

R. Chaim V. stopped wearing  from then on R.Tam’s  Tefillin.
