A Rose Among Thorns

 

Who shall bless them? When the כלה walks around the חתן  seven times, under the חופה, the Chazzan/singer sings the Piyut of "מי בן שיח שושן חוחים -- הוא יברך את החתן ואת הכלה" "The one who understands the talk of the Rose Among  the Thorns-- He shall bless the חתן & כלה" Who is this person that the פייטן is referring to? The 'מדרש רבה שה"ש ב, explains the words כשושנה בין החוחים  using a variety of examples. One example the מדרש uses is when there are 10 people at a wedding and only one knows the ברכת החתן he is the one who is the שושנה בין החוחים - Rose among thorns. The Piyut of מי בן שיח refers to the רב the מסדר קידושין who understands* the ברכת החתן. The one the מדרש refers to as the rose.
