According to the זהר* Father & Mother
are the ones to
walk down the כלה to the חופה
*זוהר פ' בראשית ,ויביאה אל האדם, מהכא אוליפנא
דבעאן אבא ואמא דכלה לאעלה ברשותיה דחתן
According to Kabbalah, based on the זהר*
it is
preferable to use red wine under the
חופה for the ברכת נשואין
ריקאנטי עה"פ ותרא האשה עפ"י זוהר
