2 Minhagim that make no sense

According to the ערוך השלחן, not having ברכת כהנים (in Chutz L'aretz ) every day has no legitimate reason. It is as if a בת קול from heaven appeared telling us not to do it. There were 2 Gedolim from the previous generation who attempted to change it. They both failed and said that it must be מן השמים not to change the Minhag The second Minhag that makes no sense is, not having ברכת כהנים on Yom Tov that falls on Shabbos. This Minhag was abolished (in almost all places)
