יעקב bought land in שכם to house his entire family
and all the animals he owned. He paid for it 100 קשיטה.
רש:י says a קשיטה & a מעה are the same.
A שקל has 24 מעה. Therefore Yakov paid 100 מעה
that was just slightly more than 4 שקל.
אברהם bought the מערת המכפלה which probably
wasn't larger than the property in שכם, yet he paid
400 שקלים one hundred times more than יעקב
