Grave Fresstivals



        

The חכמת אדם writes that when women or the עמי הארץ visit the קברי צדיקים and “pour out their hearts” by addressing their words directly to the צדיק, they risk transgressing the prohibition of דורש אל המתים.

Some גדולים even attempted to prohibit the entire practice of davening at קברי צדיקים, though their efforts were not ultimately accepted.

One can easily imagine how those same גדולים would view today's large‑scale “grave fresstivals”, where  gourmet meals for the hungry Yidden  are part of the celebration and hundreds of millions of dollars are spent, funds that could arguably be directed toward far more meaningful causes
