THE FOUR QUESTIONS  FOR 讟"讜 讘砖讘讟
 
 
 
1) Which 驻专讬 讛注抓 fruit, if you made a 讛讗讚诪讛
on it, you were not 讬讜爪讗?


A fruit that was grown in a flower pot with
no hole at the bottom.

A fruit salad consisting of 1/3 pomegranate(砖讘注转 讛诪讬谞讬诐)
and 2/3 assorted other fruits. The 专讜讘
is a  驻专讬 讛注抓 and the 专讜讘 is a 讘讜专讗 谞驻砖讜转.

4) There is only one single 讛诇讻讛 in Shulchan Aruch
re Tu B'shvat, which one?


 
Not to say 转讞谞讜谉 on Tu B'Shvat. (O.Ch. 131:6)
Eating fruits is not mentioned in S.Aruch. It is the
Mogen Avraham, who quotes this Minhag Ashkenaz.

        THE PITS


A simple way to memorize  讚讬谉 拽讚讬诪讛
(priority in making the Bracha) on fruits
of the 砖讘注转 讛诪讬谞讬诐.

The fruit with fewer seeds comes first.


1) Olive - 1 pit
2) Date -  pit with a line in the middle looks like 2 
3) Grape - 3-5 seeds
4) Fig -  seeds plus fruit
5) Pomegranate - only seed

PINEAPPLES FOR "讜 讘砖讘讟

 
Many Chassidic Rebbes have at their 驻讬专讜转 讟讬砖
(讟"讜 讘砖讘讟 住讚专) pineapples,bananas,melons etc.
(驻专讬 讛讗讚诪讛).

The 诪拽讜专 for the 诪谞讛讙 of also adding 驻专讬 讗讚诪讛, is from the
 住驻专 讞诪讚转 讛讬诪讬诐* who writes to also have 驻专讬 讛讗讚诪讛  and
have 讻讜讜谞讛 when eating them " 讛注抓 讛谞讞诪讚 讘谉 讬砖讬 讞讬 注诇 讛讗讚诪讛" 

Some claim there are hidden messages in the Sefer.
讙诪讟专讬' 807 + words7 =  814 -砖讘转讬 爪讘讬                           

The same Gematria as 砖讘转讬 爪讘讬 by adding 7 for the
7 words (讻讜诇诇).
Also  讘谉 讬砖讬 讞讬 = 390 the same gematria as 砖"爪 

The publisher of the Amsterdam edition  who was aware
of the controversy*, wrote poetically in the 讛拽讚诪讛,
              讗诐 转诪爪讗 讘讜 驻专讬 砖讗讬谞讜 谞讞诪讚 诇诪专讗讛",
              "讛砖诇讱 讛拽诇讬驻讛 讜讗讻讜诇 转讜讻讜
 (If you find in it (Sefer) a fruit that doesn't look good
 throw away the peel and eat the inside)



*Some claim the诪讞讘专 to be 谞转谉 讛注讝转讬, the right hand
man of 砖讘转讬 爪讘讬 & his 谞讘讬讗 砖拽专
Others claim it was an unknown holy man.
The Steipler Zt"l wouldn't touch or look into a
Sefer who quotes from the Chemdas Hayomim.

 
 
CHOCOLATES FOR
 "讜 讘砖讘讟


Some Poskim have difficulty understanding why our
Minhag is to make a 砖讛讻诇 on chocolates when
Halachically it should have been a 驻专讬 讛注抓

Harav Y.S. Elyashiv zt"l & Harav S.Z. Auerbach zt"l
both agree that the appropriate Bracha for chocolate
should have been 驻专讬 讛注抓 but since the velt
(the common practice) makes a 砖讛讻诇 we follow
Minhag Haolam and make a 砖讛讻诇.

The 住驻专 诪拽讜专 讛讘专讻讛 (My uncle, Dayan Harav Hagaon
R. Gavriel Krausz Shlita
) claims, The minhag of the
velt is a mistake, It came about from
the 砖注专讬 转砖讜讘讛 专"讘 住"拽 讬"讟 who writes to make a 砖讛讻诇 
on 砖注拽诇讚讬 (chocolate)

R.G. Krausz claims the 砖注专讬 转砖讜讘讛  was referring to a
chocolate drink, and the velt mistakenly assumed he
meant chocolates (solid)
R.G.Krausz holds, 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 to make a 驻专讬 讛注抓 on chocolates.
