candles but not for חנוכה candles.
שמיטה oil can only be used if you benefit from
it while burning.
Since you can benefit from שבת candles, שמיטה oil is allowed.
However, since you cannot benefit from חנוכה
candles,
שמיטה oil is not permitted.
