WIVES OF THE WEALTHY

 

Parshas Hashavua קרח

The danger of listening to the wife.

(משלי יא כח) "בוטח בעשרו הוא יפול

אמר רבי לוי: שני עשירים גדולים היו בעולם,
אחד בישראל ואחד באומות העולם- קורח בישראל
והמן באומות העולם; ושניהם שמעו לנשיהם, ושניהם נפלו

The two wealthiest people in the world had
their downfall listening to their wives. 

I'm not sure פשט in this Midrash, Is it,

a) only the wealthy shouldn't listen to their wives.
b) even the wealthy shouldn't listen to their wives.
