Dead or alive?

 


Parshas Hashavua יתרו   
כבד את אביך          
מכבדו בחייו ומכבדו במותו

The Gemoro (Kiddushin 31b) says, After
a person mentions his deceased  father, he
should add (זכרונו לברכה לחיי העולם הבא (זללה"ה

The מהרש"א writes, saying זכרונו לברכה
without adding לחיי העולם הבא can be said
even on a live person.
