Stop the music

 

As far as I know, there is no mention in the earlier Poskim of not being allowed to listen to music during Sefirah. The first one to mention it (as far as I know)  is the ערוך השלחן.  He writes that if just dancing is forbidden during Sefirah then for sure music would be forbidden. Harav R. S.Z. Auerbach ZT"L, holds that one may not sing Lebedigeh (lively) songs because it might lead you to dance. The (לקט יושר (תלמידו של התרומת הדשן writes he didn't sing  the Piyut "אליהו הנביא" on Motzei Shabbos during Sefirah.
