My Rebbe Does Not Know

I asked my Rebbie Shlita, How are the Rebbes who
light Chanuka candles in their  Bais Midrash
(and not in their homes) Yotzei Mitzvahs Ner Chanukah?

His answer was "He doesn't know"

Perhaps there is someone who does know and
would like to share it with the Oilam.

    In general, it is in the same room that they eat their Shabbos and Yom Tov meals, therefore they treat it as an extension of their home.

    aren't they lighting the menorah for the shul? (then light one at home afterwards...)?

    The Satmar Rebbe held a bachur can light in beis medrash and be motzi the entire oilam.
