According to most Poskim, with this week's reading of Parshas זכור, we
are מקיים the מצוה דאורייתא of זכירת מעשי עמלקBased on the שלחן ערוך או"ח תרנ"ב:ב it would be forbidden to make Kiddush (eat) before being מקיים the מצוה דאורייתא of זכירת מעשי עמלק.
The ערוך השלחן writes one may, however, drink a hot cup of coffee Shabbos morning before being מקיים a מצוה דאורייתא.
