the reason, women
giving birth are called חיה
from the Pasuk
כי חיות הנה
The Mishna says על ג' עבירות נשים
מתות בשעת לידתן
Women who survive childbirth
were מקיים the
3 Mitzvohs, therefore, they
are חיות (alive).
