When the Torah gives the Simanim of סנפיר וקשקשת
it is referring to all animals of the sea not only fish.
(ויקרא י"א : י ) מכל שרץ המים ומכל נפש החיה אשר
במים
Therefore the simple answer that the Shtinkus Marinus is not a fish won't suffice.
