Except for Yom Ha'atzmaut

The Chazon Ish was מכבד (gave respect) one of the Zionist Rabonim. He was friendly  and had very good relations with this Rav.

The Chazon Ish explained the reason

for this relationship. 

He said "This Rav thinks he is deceiving me 

when discussing certain issues or שאלות. 

In the meantime, it is me who is deceiving him.

Because of my influence, he refrains from doing

many things that he would otherwise have done 

if not I had befriended him".

The Chazon Ish gave an example of one

of the discussions they had.

The Rav asked the Chazon Ish if there is a way to be מתיר (allow) for soldiers to get married  during Sefira. 

Soldiers could only get married while they are on leave. By not being able to get married during Sefira they might have

to delay their wedding for many months.

The Chazon Ish knew exactly what the Rav had in mind. It was to get a Heter to get married on Yom Ha'atzmaut, being this was the day many soldiers are on leave.

The Chazon Ish answered  "that he agrees

with him, if being in the army is the cause for 

delaying their marriage for an extended period 

of time they should be allowed to get married 

during the Sefirah. 

He would be willing to be  מתיר soldiers

on leave to get married during all days of Sefirah 

except for one day, "Yom Ha'atzmaut".

Siman 13 comes after Siman 11, Siman 12 is missing .

Before the heading of Siman 13, it says "Siman 12 was 

erased and is missing".( נמחק וחסר )

The Chazon Ish changed his mind on what he wrote and 

held it was wrong.(in Siman12)

He removed the whole shtikel before it was printed.

The printers wanted to adjust the Simanim .

The Chazon Ish insisted not to do so, but to skip

Siman 12. and add the words נמחק וחסר,so that people 

will learn some important lessons.

a) one may change his mind if he is wrong  

b) not to print Toires that are wrong (not Emes)

(No need to be stuck with Falshkeit)

Chazon Ish Blech

Esrogim dealers charge a premium price for esrogim & hadasim that have

the name chazon ish attached to them.

I am surprised that the frum hardware stores haven’t

come up yet with a chazon ish blech.

The Chazon Ish holds that  chazara may be done only by  putting

the pot on top of another  pot  (kedeira al gabi kedeira). Our

flat blechs are useless.

Using a blech does not change the status of the burning stove into

a gerufah uketuma and you may not return the pot. (most poskim disagree)

The Piskei Teshuvos (siman 253 footnote #50 quotes a sefer (Och ci)

that the Chazon Ish told him to ask the blech maker to put a lip surrounding

the blech and this will give it a status of a Kedeirah (pot)

and he will be allowed to do chazarah. (even according the Chazon Ish.)
