WHEN IS ROSH HASHANA?
"ראש השנה" is mentioned only once in תנ"ך, (Yechezkel 40:1)
It is not on the first day of תשרי but on the tenth day (יום כיפור)

At the end of התרת נדרים, after the Bais Din said הכל יהיו מותרים לך, one is מוסר מודעה (notifies Bais Din) and says that he nullifies from now on all his future נדרים ושבועות etc.
According to Harav S.Z. Auerbach Zt"l, There is no need to nullify the future נדרים, etc. in front of a Bais Din.
One can say the Nusach at home. מסירת מודעה requires no Bais Din.

In many Shuls, the חזן starts with המלך at his own
seat and only afterwards does he continue at the עמוד.
One of the reasons for doing so is because it says in the פסוק
ויהי בישרון מלך בהתאסף ראשי עם יחד שבטי ישראל
When we are crowning the מלך מלכי המלכים it is necessary
for the ראשי עם (Chazzan) יחד שבטי ישראל to be together
with the rest of the congregation.

What is a תפוח?

According to תוספות (Shabbos 88a & Ta'anis 29b)
תפוח is not an apple but an אתרוג.
Goyim claim that Eve gave Adam an apple.
There is no mention anywhere in חז"ל that
she gave him an apple to eat.
The mistake might have started with the
שיטה in Midrash (בראשית רבה פרשה ט"ו פסקה ז)
that says it was an Esrog (תפוח) and
incorrectly translated it to be an apple.
Perhaps, according to תוספות, On
ראש השנה, we should be dipping the אתרוג
in honey instead of an apple.

WHEN HE HEARD THIS PSHAT
A holocaust survivor asked R. Itzikel zt"l (Antwerp).
"We say in the Avinu Malkeinu "הרוגים על שם קדשיך
and - טבוחים על יחודיך.
Why two Leshonos, שם קדשיך and יחודיך?
R. Itzikel was stumped and had no answer.
The holocaust survivor said "Let me give the rebbe an
answer I heard from the Viyapoiler Rebbe Zt"l
When the Nazis Ym"s marched into the town, they
assembled 100 men and lined them up in front of the river.
The Nazi with a machine gun started shooting from the right side and then turning & aiming his gun towards the left until he killed all the men.
When the shooting began, they all started in unison to say the שמע ישראל.
The men on the right were gunned down & died when they reached the words ה' אלוקינו. They did not manage to finish the end of the Posuk. They were the (הרוגים על שם קדשיך (ה' אלוקינו
The men on the left managed to stay alive for the extra second to complete the Posuk & say ה' אחד They were the (טבוחים על יחודיך (אחד
R. Itzikel zt"l couldn't stop crying after hearing this
very moving Pshat.

יהיו לרצון אמרי פי
Why when reciting the שמע קולינו does the
Chazzan say the stanza of יהיו לרצון quietly?
There were some גדולים who were bothered
by this question and didn't have a proper answer.
for it. Perhaps, we can answer this question.
The רמ"א (O.Ch. 123:6) writes, "The חזן at the end
of חזרת הש"ץ does not say.יהיו לרצון אמרי פי
The Mishna V'rurah says the reason is because he
relies on the תתקבל of the Kaddish, he will be saying
after ובא לציון. (not to be repetitive)
The מ"ב. also quotes the של"ה and the גאון who argue
and hold that the חזן should say it.
The Minhag is to say it quietly, not to offend the פסק of
the רמ"א.
Perhaps* the same reasoning would apply during סליחות
at שמע קולינו.
Being the חזן ends the סליחות with the Kaddish
w תתקבל. It would sound repetitive to say both יהו לרצון
& תתקבל, therefore, they instituted to say the יהיו לרצון quietly.

In Ashkenaz מחזורים, on top of the words of
ותשובה ותפילה וצדקה there appears the words צום קול ממון
It is assumed, that it explains the words- תשובה תפילה צדקה.
The Meforshim add, that they all have the same Gematria
of 136 x 3 = 408 like זאת
What is the connection of צום to תשובה or קול to תפיל
1) The רמב"ם Hl. תשובה enumerates all the ingredients for
(תשובה ,(עזיבת החטא, חרטה, וידוי,קבלה על העתיד
but no mention of צום fasting.
2) The גמרא says that those who think you need קול for
תפילה are from the small believers.
Wouldn't כוונה be more appropriate for תפילה?
3) What's so important to know that Tzedakah is money?
Perhaps, צום קול ממון has no connection to
"תשובה תפילה צדקה", but is a different formula for
different occasion.
מעבירין רוע הגזירה can be interpreted in two ways.
1) Prevents bad גזירות from ch”v reaching us.
2) Removes (rids) bad גזירות that ch”v reached us already.
To prevent bad גזירות from coming, the formula is
תשובה תפילה צדקה.
To get rid of bad גזירות that has ch”v arrived,
then the formula is as mentioned in the רמב"ם in הל' תעניות .

There is a mitzvah d’Rabanan to fast.
(א- הל' א') מצות עשה מה"ת לזעוק ולהריע בחצוצרות
Mitzvah min HaTorah to blow trumpets & scream
to Hashem.
ממון
(ג' הל' ד'- הל' ח') ונועלין את החניות- ממעטין במשא ומתן
You close the shops- reduce business dealings.
ממון is not צדקה but the loss of monetary income)
