הכל בידי שמים חוץ
הכל
בידי שמים חוץ מיראת שמים
a) Why don't we ever
Daven to Hashem that the
Neshamah should have an Aliyah?
b) Why would
someone who has been dead for 25 years
still need every year a כפרה? What עבירות could dead people have done?
A person who does a good deed in this world
and his descendants
follow in his ways then his Neshama benefits in the world to come
every time they follow his deeds. (עליית
נשמה)
The same will hold true on the opposite. If a person does a
bad deed and his descendants follow in his ways then it has
a
negative effect on his Neshama every time they follow his
bad deeds.
This positive.effect (עליית נשמה) or negative effect (ירידת
נשמה) is
not in the hands of Hashem
It is entirely in the hands of the descendants. It is dependent
on their behavior.
Hence, there is no point to Daven for עליית
נשמה.
When wishing the בעל היאהרצייט "the נשמה זאל האבן אן
עליה"
we are telling him to keep on doing מעשים
טובים & as a result
the נשמה will
automatically have an עליה.
If the descendants, even many years later, followed the bad
deeds of the נפטר then
the נפטר would
need a כפרה.
Therefore the children bring a candle to light up the
Shul and promise money for צדקה so the parent should
have כפרה.
