True story

A Yeshivah בחור, who was expelled from the Yeshiva he attended, became a שנה ופירש (went off the Derech).

He ended up in a very bad situation on the streets of Tel Aviv. He was suicidal and ready to give up on life. Somehow, R. Shlomo Carlebach zt"l met up with him.
 
R. Shlomo explained to him that there are two types of holy Yidden. One is the "מתן תורה Yid", the Yeshiva man, the Ben Torah who sits in the Bais Midrash and very much belongs there.

Then there is the "מגילת רות Yid", the רוּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּה, the גיורת, the
outsider, the reject, who doesn't belong anywhere etc.

Both of them are holy Yidden, but the משיח will come from the
outsider - the מגילת רות Yid.

This one meeting with R.Shlomo, who himself was a מגילת רות Yid,
was enough for the בחור to return back to his roots. 

He realized that not only does a מגילת רות Yid bring משיח, but
he is also a מחיה המתים. He made him alive again by
bringing him back to the fold.

Perhaps this is the connection between the Holy בעל שם טוב and שבועות. The בעל שם is the one who taught us not to beat
and hurt those who leave the fold. Instead,  A Chasid
has to be מקרב all the holy מגילת רות Yidden.
