Would the חתם סופר say such a thing?

 

Would the חתם סופר say such a thing?   In all of Shas,חנוכה is only mentioned a total   eight times in the משנה. Most of them are indirect references to חנוכה.   There is not a single הלכה of how to light חנוכה licht etc. or any mention of the נס חנוכה (In the משנה)   The ספר חוט המשולש claims that the חתם סופר said the reason רבי  avoided  mentioning הלכות חנוכה  in the משנה was because רבי was a  descendant of מלכות בית דוד and upset with the  חשמונאים taking  over the מלוכה (see רמב"ן Breishis 49:10)   There are others who claim חס ושלום for the חתם סופר to have said such a thing on רבינו הקדוש The eight Mishnos where חנוכה is mentioned ביכורים פ"א מ"ו ר"ה פ"א מ"ג תענית פ"ב מ"י מגילה פ"ג מ"ד מגילה פ"ג מ"ו מועד קטן פ"ג מ"ט בבא קמא פ"ו מ"ו מדות פ"א מ"ו
