According to the Chida (
Moreh B'etzba 114) Mayim Achronim is part of the Sitra Achra
(other side of Kedusha), therefore you should be careful to use a minimal amount
of water.
The Gaon argues and holds to
use a Revi'is for Mayim Achronim.
