Cholent to commemorate the Mann

1) What does ל"ג בעומר have to do with Parshas בשלח? 2) Why the need to change the cholent recipe for שבת בשלח?                           בשבת שירה לאכול חטה* 1) The Chasam Sofer calculates, according to the Midrash that 3 days before the מן came down they were without any bread,therefore the first day of the  מן came down was on ל"ג בעומר.  * םפר עוללות אפרים

2) The Bach writes that the Minhag was to eat on שבת שירה cooked wheat* kernels  and all year round cooked barley. *The Sefer נחל קדומים writes that the מן looked like wheat
