THE OLDEST BRIDE   According to the ספר הישר,( assuming נעמה was the daughter of חנוך), she was 580 years old, when she married נח. (born year 974 married year1554) There are  Midrashim claiming נעמה was the daughter of למך*(the first) According to these Midrashim she was approximately  1,150** years when she married נח (born approximately, year 400 married year1554) נח was 500 years old when his wife gave birth to his children, therefore, נעמה must have been at least 650 or 80 years older than her husband. *The fathers of Noach and of Naamah were both named “Lemech “(Pre R.Yehuda Hachasid) **Over a thousand years to become a Kallah, and you thought we have a Shidduch crisis!

Our Mesorah has nine times a נון הפוכה (upside down letter נ) in תנ"ך. Twice in Bamidbar 10:35 (ויהי בנסוע) and seven times in Tehillim. The last Rashi in this week's Parsha writes that  "- הנון הפוכה " At the end of the Parsha we have an upside down נון In our מסורה both The Aleppo & The Leningrad Codex,(before Rashi) there is no נון הפוכה at the end of  Parshas נח. The בית יוסף יו"ד ס' ערה quotes from the רשב"א that our Sifrei Torah are kosher even though we have no נון הפוכה. The קסת הסופר writes that today if a Sefer Torah has a נון הפוכה  at the end of Parshas Noach, we should not use it.

לכבוד יום השנה של החתם סופר זצוק"ל זי"ע כ"ה תשרי                            PERMISSION IN A VISION The Toras Moshe Chasam Sofer Al Hatorah was compiled by Harav R. Shimon Sofer zt”l son of the Ksav Sofer. He writes he used the notes of R Yehuda Frankfurter and the Maharam Shick zt”l*  and also added Toirehs from a Sefer in a Ksav Yad named שיר מעון that has no Mechabers name Eventually, it was discovered the Mechaber of the Sefer שיר מעון is nonother but R. Shimon Sofer himself. There are more than 200 Shtiklach Torah from the שיר מעון printed in the Chasam Sofer. Some of them are clearly marked at the end מספר שיר מעון most are marked simply מש"מ Many who learn the Chasam Sofer Al Hatorah are not aware that some entries of Divrei Torah are not from the Chasam Sofer but from his grandson. An Einikel from R. Shimon Sofer, R. Moshe Yosef Paskesz,  reprinted the Chasam Sofer 21 times. In the 21st edition, R. M.Y.P. explains why his Zaidah published his own Torah together with the Chasam Sofer. He says  “ His Zaidah (R.S. Sofer) wrote the Sefer שיר מעון and because of his Anivus didn’t publicize himself as the Mechaber. He was struggling with himself if it is the right thing to do to combine his own Toireh together with the Chasam Sofers. One day they noticed that he was fasting. When asked, he told them he had a vision of the Chasam Sofer revealing himself and gave him permission to combine his Toireh with the ChasamSofer’s Toireh. Hence, there are many who quote these Toirehs in the name of the Chasam Sofer and have no clue that it is not Toiras Moishe (Chasam Sofer) but from his Einikel. *both, Talmidei Chasam Sofer

Parshas Hashavua (הוא נתנה לי מן העץ (בראשית ג : י"ג The Ba'al Haturim writes that אדם said to Hashem "שהיכיתני בעץ עד ששמעתי לדבריה" "חוה beat me with a stick and forced me to listen to her". (first day of marriage) IS THIS A JOKE? Someone wrote in one of the Torah journals (הדרום ניסן תשכ"ה) that this must be a joke. Some prankster must have added it to the Bal Haturim. He claims it is a Mitzvah to erase this quote from the Ba'al Haturim. The truth is this quote was not added by a prankster. The original כתבי יד (manuscripts) still exists and it says so clearly. Also the Chofetz Chaim in שם עולם* quotes the exact quote in the name of the Midrash.    'נפוצות ישראל ה* )

The Kidnapper

In 1949 my uncle- Reb Yitzchok Donath Zt"l obtained false identity papers for himself and  both of my parents a"h.

This enabled them to escape from Communist Czechoslovakia and flee to Vienna Austria

They obtained the id of the Feigelstock family who had left Austria before the war.

R Yitzchok Donath lived in Vienna Austria as Yitzchok Feigelstock.

He was a Madrich in Agudas Yisroel. He was also very active in getting back the children who were hidden by the Goyim during the war.

There were many times when the Goyim were unwilling to voluntarily return the children to the Yidden. The had different methods to get the children out of the Goyishe homes.

One day the police showed with an arrest warrant for Yitzchok Feigelstock.

 My uncle was charged with kidnapping- a very serious crime. He was locked up in prison. He managed to convince the authorities that they have the wrong man because his name is not Feigelstock but Donath. With Nissim he was released.

The Yitzchok Feigelstock they were after was none other than the Long Beach Rosh Yeshiva Shlita who was at that time thousands of miles away across the ocean learning in Lakewood under Reb Ahron Kotler Zt"l 

The Rosh Yeshiva Reb Yitzchok Feigelstock Shlita, is probably עד היום not aware of this story.

*R. Yitzchok Donath zt"l (my uncle) was Moser Nefesh and risked his life together with the Veitzener Rav zt"l to blow Shofar for 1,400 children who were destined to the crematoria the following. day in Auschwitz. He enabled them to the last Mitzvah in this world with Tekias Shofar. My uncle too was Niftar with his last Mitzvah of Tekias Shofar.
