Who loves you the most?

Parshas ויחי 1) The Zohar( Parshas ויחי) writes," Yaakov bentched his grandchildren before bentching his own children because one loves his grandchildren more  than his children." תא חזי, ברכתא דבריך לבני יוסף, אמאי אקדים לון ברכאן עד לא יברך לבנוי, אלא מכאן דחביבותא דבני בנוי חביב עליה דבר נש יתיר מבנוי, ובגין כך אקדים חביבותא דבני בנוי קודם לבנוי לברכא לון בקדמיתא --------------------------------------------------------------- 2)  We find in last week's Parsha. Yehudah was pleading with Yosef to allow Binyomin to return to his father, otherwise his father (Yakov) would die. Why not plead about the suffering of Binyomin's ten sons? The Kotzker Rebbe explained:  "From here we see parents are in more pain when their children are suffering than the pain children have when their parents are suffering."   .דאמרי אינשי "רחמי דאבא אבני, רחמי דבני אבני דהוו ליה" 'The love of a father is for his children. The love of his children is for their children." Sotah 49a .................................................................................. 3) The ר' בחיי פרשת וירא כ"א :ח writes, .וידוע עוד כי אין אהבת האב לבן לא ביום הלידה ולא ביום המילה אלא ביום שנגמל, ואז תתחזק אהבתו יותר ויותר. Furthermore, it is a well-known fact that a father's love for his son is not usually something that develops strongly from the day he is born or the day of his Bris, but after he has been weaned and begins to grow up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
