Shamshon Rafael Hirsh Zt"l who said one of the lessons we learn from the Parsha of יצחק & עשיו is that there are times when one can mislead and fool even a Gadol. RSM. has also said numerous times, "The Velt (people) makes two mistakes regarding Gedolim, (both are untrue) a) A Gadol doesn't make mistakes. b) If he makes a mistake he is no longer a Gadol."
