Because he ate the apple, he is required to
make 20 Brachos.

However, some years, if he eats the apple in the
week of Parshas ואתחנן he doesn't need to say 
the 20 Brachos.

Laundry On Motzaei Tisha Baav -Did You Know ? (220)



According to Mori V'Rabi Harav Hagaon R. Shlomo Miller Shlita:

When Tisha B'av falls on Thursday (this year) there is no need to wait till the following day after חצות with the laundry. 
Clothes that are needed for Shabbos may be washed on
Thursday night.
When doing so one may add to it also clothes not needed
for Shabbos.

                ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם
דברים ד:ט"ו    


This פסוק is being quoted by Poskim, Doctors, Hatzoloh, etc.that endangering one's life is a
איסור דאורייתא

According to the מהרש"א this פסוק has nothing
to do with not endangering one's life.

נפשתיכם refers to the נשמה and not the body.
The תורה is commanding us to be extra
careful not to carve forms of animals etc. ending
up bowing to them and being עובד עבודה זרה.
It has nothing to do with endangering human lives.

The one who referenced this  פסוק to endangering 
human lives was a non-Jewish הגמון (minister)  

 חסיד שמיאן להפסיק את תפילתו כאשר פנה אליו הגמון נכרי. ההגמון תמה על מעשיו של החסיד:

"אמר לו: ריקא, והלא כתוב בתורתכם 'רק השמר לך ושמור נפשך', וכתיב 'ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם' -
כשנתתי לך שלום למה לא החזרת לי שלום? אם הייתי חותך ראשך בסייף מי היה תובע את דמך מידי
ברכות ל"ב

 

No need to learn

 

  

 

Is there a חיוב to learn on תשעה באב?


The ספר שבט יהודה יור"ד ס' שפ"ד ס"ד* has a חקירה

" When Chazal said one may learn דברים רעים does
it mean that there is a חיוב of תלמוד תורה but limited
to only דברים רעים 

or do we say that an אבל or on ת"ב there is no
חיוב תלמיד תורה but Chazal came up with a היתר of
learning דברים רעים if one wants to learn but there
is no obligation to do so"

The שבט יהודה concludes that there is no חיוב of
תלמוד תורה and one is not obligated to learn at all.

Only Chasidim Are Allowed-

Shabbos Chazon, only Chasidim are allowed to - ???



Halacha v’lo l’ma’aseh

                                                       ONLY CHASIDIM ARE ALLOWED
The Rema (O.Ch. 551: 1) writes, Shabbos Chazon you  must wear weekday clothes (except the shirt)

The Aruch Hashulchan (551: 11)  writes ,today we do change to Bigdei Shabbos. They were matir
 wearing  Bigdei Shabbos, otherwise you  will be showing Aveilus Befarhesya(public) on Shabbos .

Even though the Rema  knew of Aveilus Befarhesya ,  he  wouldn’t  allow wearing Bigdei
Shabbos because, in the times of the Rema the style of dress between Shabbos  and weekday  were
similar. By wearing weekday clothes there is no Aveilus Befarhesya.
When they started wearing Bekeshes and Shtreimels on Shabbos, they were matir  to
wear Bigdei Shabbos, otherwise it would be Aveilus Befarhesya..

According to the A.H. ,the Heter of wearing Bigdei Shabbos is only for Chasidim who wear
on Shabbos Shtreimels and Bekeshes. Those who wear suits  and hats on Shabbos should wear

 their weekday suit  and hat.

Der Heiligeh Tchebiner Rav zt"l -Chodesh Av

The Machtzis Hashekel (O.Ch.417) quotes the Hagahos Mordechai in the name of the Tosefta, that there is no Rosh Chodesh Bentching for the month of Av.

Many Poskim argue and hold that we do Bentch on Shabbos Rosh Chodesh Av. The Minhag is to bentch Chodesh Menachem Av, even though the month is Called Av (no Menachem). We say it so that we should be zoche to have the
Geulah etc. (Aruch Hashulchan E.H. 126)
There are sheilos if a Get had the word Menachem in it , if it is kosher.
They once asked from The Tchebiner Rav zt”l how to date letters & documents written in the month of Av.
 He told them the answer can be found  in the Teshuvos Chasam Sofer, Orach Chaim.

They came back to the Tchebiner Rav and told him they searched the whole Sefer and couldn’t find any such discussion.
He told them , “when learning a Teshuvas Chasam Sofer, it is not enough to learn the text, but one needs to learn the date as well.

If you check Teshuvos # 32, 33, 35, 37, The ones written before  Tisha B’av the Chasam Sofer dates it as Av. The ones written after Tisha B’av he dates it Menachem

or Menachem Av.

1) ר"א הקליר wrote 50 קינות for Tisha B'av. We say
only 19 of them. 


2) In the "קינה, "ארזי הלבנון re the  עשרה הרוגי מלכות, you will
only find 8 and not 10   
(I don't know why)

3) We say.  4 קינות written for the גזירת תתנ"ו (crusades)

4) The ראב"ן wrote re the crusades that it is unheard of
1000 עקידות (killings) per day
 
(In 1944, the Nazis ימ"ש killed over 6,000 Jews each day.) 

 

5) In שו"ת מהר"ם מרוטנברג ב' נ"ט was asked If one may kill his wife
& children to save them from being captured alive by the enemy (crusades)


The Maharam M. answered, " For sure one may kill himself. על קידוש השם -
and even to kill the children the היתר has spread. ( is acceptable) 
We heard of many Gedolim who have slaughtered their children.

R.Klonimus writes in his קינהאמרתי שעו מני that *he killed his own family."

 

 

*In the קינה, אמרתי שעו מני from R. Kloinimos we have today,  we don't find any mention
 of R. Kloinimos killing his own family.  He does write

                                                                                                      כבש האב רחמיו לזבח ילדיו השלים ככרים לטבח- 
- מי ישמע -הבן נשחט והאב קורא את שמע

The English Art Scroll Kinnos (Pages 292-3) in the footnotes, writes,
" the medieval censors laid a heavy hand on this Kinnah as is obvious "

 

                                                          

It's only a מנהג

 

 


                   משנכנס אב ממעטין בשמחה


According to the Chasam Sofer,(O.Ch. 160) the Halacha of
משנכנס אב ממעטין בשמחה refers to only one single Halacha,
"Not to build a בנין של שמחה in the nine days".(starting ר"ח)

All the other restrictions, (Even according to the רמ"א)
Halachically doesn't start on ר"ח אב but starts at the
beginning of the week of Tisha B'av. שבוע שחל בו.

אשכנזים start the restrictions from ראש חדש because
the רמ"א says that this is our Minhag ואנו נוהגין להחמיר.
