More equal than others

 

Parshas Hashavua קרח 'כל העדה כלם קדשים- ומדוע תתנשאו על קהל ה* At first glance, it would seem that the חטא of קרח  starts with the complaint of ומדוע תתנשאו. (Why do you exalt yourself) Harav Hagaon R.Y.B. Soloveitchik zt"l, (Boston) said that קרח started off wrong with his claim of כל העדה כלם קדשים. all Yidden are equal and are on the same level. Those who believe everyone is equal, can't accept the authority of our leaders the Gedolim. We believe that not all Yidden are equal. There are different levels in כלל ישראל We have a - כהן גדול & כהנים - נביאים & משה רבינו  גדולים & גדול הדור- תלמידי חכמים & עמך The seventh עיקר of the Rambam, -------אני מאמין באמונה שלמה--- ושהוא היה אב לנביאים  משה רבינו was a higher level נביא than the other נביאים and so too there are diffrerent levels in כלל ישראל *The double language of כל & כלם indicates all & all equally.
