Yishmael says there is a Mitzvah of ואספת דגנך  The Torah commands us הנהג בהן מנהג דרך ארץ The Chasam Sofer writes** part of Mitzvahs***Yeshivas Eretz Yisroel is working the fields and perhaps even other trades that are necessary for well-being of the inhabitants of the land is part of the Mitzvah.  The same way one can not say he has no time to put on Tefillin because he is busy learning Torah, so too one can not say I am busy learning Torah and have no time to gather the grain, etc..  *ברכות ל"ה ע"ב **חידושים מסכת סוכה ל"ו ע"א ***The Chasam Sofer holds that it's נוהג בזמן הזה as soon as we have a majority of Yidden living in Eretz Yisroel.
