If you can't understand
​and ​you listen  ​your sins will be forgiven.

The Chasam Sofer (Droshos p 358b) writes  that  those עמי דארעא who sit patiently and listen to the  Rovs Pilpul (Drasha)​ without understanding a word will be rewarded with מחילת עונות.
